Doesn’t make sense: ‘live missionING’. You’ve created a new word. Don’t mess with the language. Leave it alone. If you aren’t Shakespeare, don’t fix it.
Mission is a place. Mission is a destination. Mission is the object of a preposition: on a mission to or for _____, but mission is not an -ing on the end of a word. Missioning is NOT a word.
OH, but it is!
It is a God-head word. It is a Trinity concept. After the great 3-in-1 created humanity and then slipped into our skin, a Comforter came to woo our souls back to the Garden where we want to be. Our Comforter never sleeps, never pauses, never gives up or gives in or goes away. Not until we take our last, half intake of Earth oxygen – God is always Missioning.
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us and Brother James tells us, ‘Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what is says.’
And what did the Word say? More directly; what did he say, live out for us in the flesh, and then tell us to do in the same manner? Go! Live incarnationally. Live Jesusly. Make disciples. Baptize. Teach.
And, that’s is not a concept for missionaries only. That’s a concept for any of us who call ourselves Jesus people.
As we continue our series on ‘A Day in the Life of a Missionary’, let’s explore the concept of missioniNG.

I will be in the city today having coffee with my Lithuanian friend, Jurga, take a ride on Budapest’s newest metro line that opened this month, teach a literature class or two. I am wondering what divine appointments God has made for us today? Come along. Let’s live missioning together.
